QingJing
QingJing is a packaging design for Chinese rock tea. The name is taken from a Chinese classical text and refers to stillness and meditation. The surface graphics are based on ink painting, and the image can be read either as a butterfly or as a Buddha, depending on the viewing angle. Six groups of images create different visual effects from different perspectives. The tea is held in a ceramic pot, because ceramic does not react with tea and does not absorb its fragrance. The streamlined body and the fitted lid allow easy opening and closing.
QingJing Tea by Xue Jiang was featured as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. QingJing Tea received the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that rewards exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
