Gu Dui Jiao
Gu Dui Jiao is a packaging design for rice wine. The glass bottle is shaped like a single grain of rice. When the bottle is filled, the wine forms a grain of rice in liquid form. The outer box is also shaped like a grain of rice. The box is made of iron and is gold plated, so it appears as a golden grain of rice. The bottle cap repeats the same golden rice shape. The golden rice is opened first, and the liquid rice is found inside. Glass and iron are used because both materials can be recycled and reused.
Gu Dui Jiao Wine Packaging by zhen yang was highlighted as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Gu Dui Jiao Wine Packaging won the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that honors exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
