Petals Multifunctiona drug packaging

Petals

Petals is a multifunctional medication packaging designed for older users. The form is based on a flower with seven petals, and each petal holds the dose for one day. Every petal carries a printed number to aid identification. A cutting line on the central disc allows a single pill to be removed. Breaking a petal tears the foil and destroys part of the number, which indicates that another dose is still due that day. The transparent centre is a convex plastic sheet filled with water, so the centre works as a magnifying glass for reading the instructions.

Petals Multifunctiona drug packaging by Jiankun SUN has been selected as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Petals Multifunctiona drug packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2017. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which rewards exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
